Working partners. absolute quality

Unique social and ethical DNA

At Sompunt we are committed to people: we guarantee decent salaries in a remote and rural environment, at risk of depopulation, and fair working conditions. We also work for collective prosperity, with the "Weaving Futures" project, which links our prosperity and that of the territory to a fairer and more equitable future for everyone.

Job creation
and rural economic development

We are the only non-agricultural cooperative in the territory where we are located, a fact that has been key to economic development and the retention of local talent.

For years we have created and continue to create quality and sustainable jobs, which counteract rural depopulation and maintain the textile tradition of the area and the Catalan industrial area.

Generational relief:
the cooperative project "Teixint Futurs" (Knitting Futures)

Since 1969, our cooperative factory has been a fundamental pillar in the maintenance of the Catalan textile industrial fabric, providing work to hundreds of people of all ages, especially women from Espluga Calba and towns

Now, "Teixint Futurs" is a cooperative project of generational relief that we have started from Sompunt to ensure the know-how that has been woven over the years in the cooperative and pass it down from generation to generation. Thanks to "Teixint Futurs" we train people who belong to other cooperatives, mostly at risk of social exclusion, thus guaranteeing continuity and inclusion in the textile sector.

What does it mean?

Working partners: fair wages and working conditions

Our workers are also partners, a fact that allows us to guarantee fair salaries and equitable working conditions, which brings extra quality to the products; the commitment to a job well done is unmistakable. In addition, we promote gender equality and female empowerment, ensuring that women play a leading role in decision-making and management.

Women’s work and work-life balance

Sompunt cooperative is committed to work-life balance and the care of working people, creating a work environment that promotes equality, stability and the quality of jobs, especially for women in rural areas.

Business model with collective vision

Cooperatives create an environment where individual and collective needs are managed in an equitable and sustainable way, contributing to the development of the territory to deal with inequalities and generate a fairer society.

Impact measurement, traceability and certifications:
our future

ico-compromis-3

Measurement of impact and traceability

We work to apply technologies that measure the environmental impact and traceability of our products. This will allow us to constantly assess the sustainability of our operations and make adjustments to continuously improve our environmental impact.

ico-compromis-4

Product passport: digital traceability

We are implementing the "Digital Product Passport" (DPP), an innovative tool that will allow our customers to access detailed information about the sustainability of each product through a QR code, offering complete traceability from production to distribution

Certifications and commitment to recycling

We strive to obtain the most rigorous certifications in terms of sustainability and waste recycling to obtain production materials. These certifications support our commitment to sustainable practices and respect for the environment.

Being close, makes us better

Our location, in a remote and rural environment, forces us to be aware that we must take care of nature in order to have balanced production and proximity to the EU to reduce our carbon footprint. At the same time, we work to implement zero textile waste practices and the use of traceability technologies to study the environmental impact of manufactured products.

KM0 products:
Less carbon footprint

At Sompunt, we commit to 100% EU local production, guaranteeing KM0 products. This strategy allows us to significantly reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to the fight against the climate emergency.

Unlike companies that outsource production to distant countries, we do everything from our factory, closing the production circle and minimizing energy expenditure and CO2 emissions.

Recovery of materials
and minimal textile waste

We strive to achieve a production model that generates zero textile waste. We implement practices of recycling of clothing scraps, which are converted into recycled yarn with which it can be woven again.

Treatment
of waste water

The water used for washing clothes goes through its own treatment plant, where it is filtered and cleaned of impurities before being released into the sewer system.
